I knew I wouldn't forget you, and so I went and let you blow my mind. So I kept you my dirty little secret; I was sneaking out my window every night, riding shotgun in your car. We went to the river and found us a spot and we probably went a little too far. Because we were just kids when we fell in love, not knowing what it was. But watching you is the only drug I need. I see my future in your eyes. Perché tustasera, sei perfetta per me 💕⠀ ⠀ ⠀ It’s already been a week, but I just want to go back and relive this day over and over again. Not to change a single thing, but to feel things over and over again. My thanks are too long to not have a separate post soon on it’s own☺️ I also cannot wait to see photos ✨

Skin and bones. The thirteenth-century brick of the cloister of the ex-monastery of S. Cosimato is covered by a skin of intonaco and fragments of ancient carving: here we see part of a loculus cover, a loculus being the shelf in a catacomb where a body was interred. A partial inscription gives the name of the occupant, Felix, but why the skeleton? It is obviously a symbol of mortality, but early Christianity tended to emphasise peace and prayer, in the hope of resurrection. The possibility remains that Felix was not a Christian at all, and this skeleton might epitomise Epicurean philosophy: "eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you may die". Here in the cloister of S. Cosimato, it is set into the wall across from Rome's only extant bed of nails, rusting across the aisle. Perhaps they were placed there intentionally, in a mute argument over how to live a good life: enjoy it while you can, or mortify your flesh in anticipation of a heavenly reward. I know which one I would choose. #cloister #chiostro #relief #relievo #skeleton #scheletro #ancientrome #sancosimato #rome #roma #visitrome #instarchitecture #igersart #igersroma #igersrome #instarome #instaroma #new_photolazio #photooftheday #beniculturali30 #volgoroma #volgoarte #detailsofrome #tesori_italiani #noidiroma #shotz_of_italia #top_roma_photo #topromephoto
