Today we look at section: Ta Moko! • Ta Moko is the tattoo of the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand. The traditional Ta Moko is different from normal tattooing in that the skin is carved; using a “chisel”, not punctured thus leaving grooves in the skin rather than a smooth surface. The markings are generally spirals and are applied to the face, shoulders, upper arms and legs. The practice of Ta Moko for both men and women, restarted in 1990 with the use of Tattoo Machines as opposed to the Chisels used in the past. • To register with this section please contact: @ playmaswithjenny Section Leaders: Family Affair • Come down to our showroom or DM for questions on how to register for all other sections and visit us at: www.venomcarnival.com for more costumes, options or to register! • Showroom: 1220 Markham Road, Unit 6&7 Hours of Operation: Weekdays (6PM – Late) / Weekends (2PM – Late) • #venomcarnival #showroom #mas #traditions #history #torontocarnival #torontoevents #caribana #soca #caribbean #supporttheculture #6ix #music #inweblood #TorontoCarnival2018 #peeks #culture #festival #celebration #competition #masqueraders #inked #ink #ArtOfMas #RespectDeMas
